Lipstick plant. Crown of Thorns. Gloxinia.

Filed under: cactus, propagation, gloxinia, aeschynanthus - lipstick plant, crown of thorns — mukaketupat @ 4:07 pm

Got this plant two days ago.

Decided to call it ‘whoopi’. Its got curly succulent leaves, tubular, bell shaped deep red flowers. Found out the name of the plant, its aeschynanthus also known as Lipstick Plant.

Very very VERY pretty.

Its been raining and past few days and my gloxinia flowerbed was filled with water. Don’t worry, they survived. Propagated two of them last night / this morning.

This is kramer

This is kramer jr.
Used this right after i cut the stem..

I hope they don’t die. :-|

The flower on my crown of thorns finally bloomed this morning! Yay! It used to be red, but this time its yellow! :)

obsesi pokok

here are all my pokok-pokok & bunga-bunga. praises welcomed :)

blank is a type of lily called peace lily, and she’s got one full bloom flower & 3 anak (see below for close-up please).

and here, we have mogwai! i don’t know what type of kaktus it is, but i think he’s a poet. look at the kesan-kesan dakwat on his leaves. gempak!

just found out that mogwai is a type of kalanchoe (tomentosa) also known as panda plant.

echeveria something something something. this is the botanical name of the cactus above. don’t confuse with mogwai. okay, next!

oh segarnya pudina! my cat is unfortunately scared of it. he thinks it’s pedas.

i am aiming to impress with my knowledge of botanical names. this is a kalanchoe. k-a-l-a-n-c-h-o-e.

close up. it’s very pretty this plant. that’s all.

mmm! shame shame. got this african violet from ikea. shh… it was very hot yesterday and scorched some of the leaves and petals. it actually doesn’t look like this anymore :(

this is noname, but the common flower name is impatiens new guinea hybrid. i’ve had it for about a month now, actually more than a month. the flowers are starting to wilt slowly. i pinched a few out today. and i have no idea how to take care of it. i only just found out the actual name yesterday. that’s all.

and this is where they alllllll live. home sweet home. :)

p/s: check out the intruder, the seedlings!
